After crashing out so early yesterday we all missed dinner and at 5am i was too hungry to continue sleeping. I left the apartment to get some breakfast and the only thing open at 5am was.....everything. I could have gone anywhere but i wanted to test Maccas. I got a sausage, egg and cheese mcmuffin, a sausage and cheese mcgirdle (which has pancakes and syrup instead of bread), a bacon and egg bagel, some hotcakes and a sausage and egg biscuit (which is NYC for a scone- really they have them everywhere).
When i got back to the apartment the girls were still sleeping so, in a courteous and gentlemanly like manner, i awoke them for breakfast....i definitely did not shake them like flavoured milk whilst jumping on the bed and squealing 'FEEEEEAAAA'.
The Maccas was absolutely horrible it tasted like third world sickness and sorrow. It was so greasy and thick i felt like i was eating sourdough deep fried in burnt butter. Now we all feel sick and fat. gonna have a slow one today, New York is way too busy on the weekends.

I hope you've a;; survived your McDonald's breakfast revulsion. There are a couple of good breakfast options near you.
Norma's (at the Parker Meridian - where you had those tasty burgers behind the red curtain.)
Kitchenette (on 122nd, I think) - both of these places offer good old fashioned diner fare and decent coffee: pancakes, scrambled eggs with bacon..
Bathalzar in Soho is good - and it's not as busy during the week if you get there before the lunch rush. Bit more expensive but the ambiance and location near boutique shopping make up for it. (And I think this one is already on Bec's list...)
Great coffee and a quick bagel can be found in Grand Central - Joe's is my fave but there are several places there that are even better than Starbucks.
I'm so excited to see what you discover next!
PS: I think the Gehry building you saw from the Highline is the IAC building. It's his only building in NYC and looks kinda like an iceberg.
